Food: Chestnut & Mushroom Soup

This year has been the first year I’ve had the time to give into my chestnut curiosity, so I went for a Martha Stewart classic: Chestnut & Mushroom Soup.

Before now I didn’t realise how lovely chestnuts smell and how much ‘umf’ they can add to a soup. Although, I admit, I did spend an hour or so wrestling them out of their shells and skins after roasting! This time of year when you can find them on our supermarket shelves I’d highly recommend throwing them in your trolley.
